Dr. Stokes as an Anthropologist
Dr. Stokes became interested in anthropology while attending Golden West College in Huntington Beach. The subject is broad with regard to its content and that became his passion.
“I have always loved intersections. That’s where things happen. And I found anthropology to be the field with the most intersections connecting it with the other academic disciplines. I am a big picture person and needed a big picture academic discipline.”
Dr. Stokes holds a B.A. in Anthropology for California State University at Dominguez Hills and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of California, Riverside, CA
“My interests have always included all four subfields of anthropology, Physical, Cultural, Linguistic, and Archeology. I chose UCR because it had a strong four field orientation that fit my interests.”
